What If Jesus Had Never Been Born?
A Coral Ridge Christmas documentary titled "What If Jesus Had Never Been Born?" is scheduled to air nationwide the weekend after millions celebrate the birth of Christ.
Hosted by author and theologian Dr. D. James Kennedy, the documentary special will answer the question on what the world would look like without Jesus Christ and how the world has never been the same since the birth of Christ.
“We’re going to tell the truth - withheld from most Americans for the last half century - that Christ has been the greatest benefactor to the human race that the world has ever known,” said Kennedy, senior minister at Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church in Fort Lauderdale and author of the best-selling book What If Jesus Had Never Been Born?

The program is filmed in Europe, South America, India and the United States and consults scientists, historians, philosophers and theologians to weigh the impact of Jesus on the last 2,000 years.
Before weighing in on the positive transformation the world underwent after the coming of Jesus Christ, the documentary begins with philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche and a quote from one of his best-known works, The Antichrist, Curse on Christianity.
"I call Christianity the one great curse, the one enormous and innermost perversion, the one great instinct of revenge," Nietzsche wrote. "I call it the one immortal blemish of mankind."
To others, a world without Christianity is a dark and sinful world.
"One has to ask themselves the question 'If we extrapolate out of the human experience Christianity, what's left?'" poses talk show host Janet Parshall of Janet Parshall's America in the program. "The basic sin-nature of man," she answers.
The program goes further into modern science, education and humanitarian work, all of which has roots in the 3-1/2-year ministry of Jesus Christ from 2,000 years ago, scientists and historians say.
One of the largest humanitarian organizations feeding some 10 million every year is The Salvation Army.
"There wouldn't be a Salvation army without a savior," said Gen. J. Gowans, international director of the Army.
Even the Red Cross, although secular today, has its beginnings with Christianity as it was founded by a Swiss evangelical.
"Because Jesus was born, there is a great deal of care in this world for the poor and needy," says Kennedy in the program.
Some argue that the gospel ministers are preaching isn't making an impact as they view the events of the world today. But the late Dr. E.V. Hill, who was senior pastor of Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Los Angeles, says the problem isn't with the gospel.
"There's nothing wrong with Jesus Christ," he says in the program. "You've got to accept him."
Without Jesus, the world would definitely look different.
"If Christianity were put on trial, the results would be a unanimous verdict by the jury who would say that mankind's life has been dramatically and unalterably changed as a result of Christianity," noted Parshall.
The documentary special airs Dec. 30-31 on "The Coral Ridge Hour," which is carried by nearly 200 stations.
