'Kiki' Sheard Tops Japanese Radio, Receives 3 Stellar Nominations

EMI Gospel recording artist Kierra Kiki Sheard is at the top of Japans radio charts this week with her single Let Go from her 2005 summer release Just Until .
Let Go is currently No. 1 on both the Japanese overall/combined international and domestic radio charts and No. 5 on the Tokyo Hot 100, which is the music chart for J-Wave the largest pop radio station in Japan.
In addition to her radio success, Sheard has also been nominated for three 2006 Stellar Awards including Contemporary Female Vocalist of the Year, Urban Song of the Year, and Contemporary CD of the Year. The 21st Annual Stellar Awards will be handed out at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville on Jan. 21.
Sheard, whos 2004 debut release I Owe You marked the first time that a new gospel artist debuted at number one on the gospel sales charts, is currently in the studio recording her untitled sophomore project, which is scheduled to hit stores in the Springtime.
In related news, Sheards mother, Karen Clark-Sheard the youngest member of the legendary Clark Sisters and daughter of gospel pioneer Dr. Mattie Moss Clark will be releasing her new CD Its Not Over on Jan. 24.
Produced by gold-selling artist Israel Houghton and Aaron Lindsey, the CD features the compelling ballad Favor, which will be hitting radio stations nationwide soon.
