Amy Grant to Appear on 'Katie' to Perform 'Tennessee Christmas'
Christian artist Amy Grant will be making an appearance on the "Katie" talk show tomorrow, Nov. 27.
Hosted by TV personality Katie Couric, Grant will speak about the holiday season, her family and her new album How Mercy Looks From Here, which was released earlier this year. Grant will also perform the holiday classic "Tennessee Christmas." The show will be on the ABC local channel.
Every December, Amy Grant performs at select engagements with her husband, Vince Gill, in celebration of the Christmas season. They will be playing shows in Atlanta, Cincinnati and Nashville, and will showcase their Christmas set alongside the skilled symphonies of each respective city.
Grant recently co-hosted the Dove Awards with Kirk Franklin, and was also on "The View" during the summer to perform a few songs.
How Mercy Looks From Here debuted at No. 12 on the Billboard charts.
She drew inspiration for her 18th record from her late mother who once told her "sing something that matters," she said in a release. Grant is hoping this album is her most impactful one yet and received help from a list of famous friends such as Sheryl Crow, Vince Gill, Will Hoge, Carole King, Eric Paslay and James Taylor.
"People have asked in the past, 'Who would you sing with if you could?' And I've always said, Well I don't know, just whatever happens. But I felt very intentional inviting these guests. Mostly because I love their work, but also because I felt like what they brought to the table creatively was exactly what that song needed," stated Grant to BreatheCast.
Grant's career spans over 30 years with the release of her first album back in 1977. She has sold over 30 million records, has a five times platinum album, one triple, one double, and six single platinum as well as four gold albums.
The singer is a six-time Grammy award winner, holds 25 GMA Dove Awards, was a awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and inducted into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame.
