'Attack on Titan' Season 2 News: New Season to Premiere on April 2015? First Compilation Film to Get 4DX Screening in Japan
The creators and producers of the hit anime series "Attack on Titan" have been very quiet about the show's season 2 premiere. Back in July, there were rumors that the animated series would come back for a 2014 showing, but that did not happen. Now, there are fresh speculations that season 2 could premiere next year, specifically on April.
For now, Wit Studios has not confirmed the launch date rumors, as it has been reported that they have stopped production of upcoming episodes because they are waiting for Hajime Isayama, the creator of the manga "Shingeki no Kyojin" from which the anime is based, to release Volume 15 to have enough material for season 2.
According to iDigital Times, Isayama originally planned the manga to run for 16 volumes, but recently he has announced that he is aiming at developing up to 20 volumes. The website reports that volume 14 will be out on November 2014. The first season covered about eight and a half volumes of the manga, and the website assumes that Wit Studios plans on covering about the same length of material for season 2. If this comes to pass, then the entire series is expected to run for only three seasons, with the last season most likely to premiere in 2018.
Meanwhile, the official site for the "Attack on Titan" anime project has announced that its first compilation film, "Attack on Titan: Goren no Yumiya," which puts together the first 13 episodes of the anime, will get 4DX screenings at Cinema Sunshine Heiwajima in Tokyo and Fukuyama Corona Cinema World in Hiroshima on Nov. 22. According to Crunchyroll, the 4DX screening will enable viewers to have a full sensory viewing experience, complete with seat motion, wind, mist, and scents.
