'Black Sails' Season 2 Release Date, Spoilers: Eleanor Guthrie to Build New World

Like in Season 1, Nassau and its women will still play an important part in the development of the story of the hit adventure drama series "Black Sails."

A report from IBTimes indicated a recently-released trailer for the upcoming second season of the show. Although the video primarily focused on the women of "Black Sails," it did, however, reveal some important aspects of what to expect when the program returns to the small screen.

As found out in the clip, Hannah New's Eleanor Guthrie is seen speaking to someone telling him that the whole of England wants the island.

Much as she tries to build the island the way she wanted it to be, apparently, the ambitious people of Nassau are more attuned to their individual gains.

The actress dished out further about her character saying that the chief fence and supplier will grow to become a cunning leader whose sole purpose is to achieve her goals.

But she won't succeed easily. One of Eleanor's adversaries Max (played by Jessica Parker Kennedy) is also set to become more powerful as the season progresses. Using her intelligence and wit, she will operate undercover.

Fans will also get to know more of Clara Paget's Anne Bonny, or "the woman of few words," as she was often called. Viewers will see a different side of her personality in season 2.

The video also teased that Louise Barnes' Miranda Barlow will now find herself playing a more active role in her partnership with Captain James Flint (Toby Stephens).

"Black Sails" season 2 will kick off its premiere episode on Jan. 24, 2015 on Starz.
