'Boruto: Naruto the Movie' News: Spin-Off's Rumored Announcement on Dec. 19
"Boruto: Naruto the Movie" fans are now excited for Dec. 19 because of reports saying a spin-off for the said movie will be announced on that day.
Rumor has it that Naruto creator Masashi Kishimoto is working on a spin-off for "Boruto: Naruto the Movie." A timer on the official website of Weekly Shonen Jump also fueled the rumors, especially because the countdown is shown to end on Dec. 19 at 3:30 p.m., according to Crossmap.
Aside from that, the timer is accompanied with the words "Next Generation" and the site itself shows silhouettes of Naruto characters. Dec. 19 marks the start of the Jump Fiesta convention in which Naruto will have its own stage and an important even will happen at 3 p.m., the report details.
"Boruto: Naruto the Movie" was such a success that it left plenty of room for another installment. The movie made $5 million in revenue. In an interview with Anime News Network (ANN), Kishimoto teased that the Naruto movie will have a spin-off.
"There are infinite possibilities right now. If I decide that I want to do more Naruto stories, perhaps I will, perhaps I won't," Kishimoto told ANN. "That said, there is nothing firmly in the works at this time. Just that there is always the possibility."
Moreover, the Naruto creator expressed his desire to write a science fiction. He brought up the possibility of a story told from Sasuke's or Sannin Jiraiya's perspective, Yibada relays.
If the rumors prove to be true, the upcoming spin-off could continue the story of teen ninja Naruto Uzumaki's quest to be a full-fledged Hokage. The latest film tells the story of Boruto, Naruto's son, and his wife Hinata Hyuga. Boruto trained under Sasuke Uchiha while on a mission to find solace in defeating his father.
As of now, there are still no confirmed details about the "Boruto: Naruto the Movie" spin-off. Fans will have to wait until Dec. 19 to see if a spin-off will be announced or not.
