The hit police-procedural drama series "Castle" is now set to air the second half of its seventh season and spoiler reports suggest that fans should not miss it.

"After being forbidden to work with Kate Beckett or the 12th Precinct, Castle obtains a P.I. license and shows up unannounced at Beckett's crime scene, hoping to investigate alongside her as a private eye. But things don't go as Castle had planned."

As a refresher, Castle was relieved from his duties at the NYPD during the first-half's finale. In search for a new career, Castle resorted to being a private investigator.

Citing TVLine, showrunner David Amann said that being a P.I., is necessary for Fillion's character to develop.

"We thought it would give us some opportunities to upset the apple cart a little bit in terms of the Castle-Beckett professional relationship. We were looking for an interesting way to have Castle get into trouble. He kind of operated outside the lines in Episode 10, so we felt that like it was justified that he would be punished for that," Amann said.

"Castle" Mid-Season 7 Premiere airs this Monday, Jan. 12, at 10 p.m. on ABC.
