Chad Ochocinco Tweets After Patriots Release; Evelyn Lozada Mocks Fiancée on Twitter

Chad Ochocinco and his fiancée Evelyn Lozada both took to Twitter after news of the NFL star's release from The New England Patriots broke, and despite him being unemployed, the couple appear to be in good spirits.

Ochocinco, 34, who joined The New England Patriots in July after being traded from The Cincinnati Bengals, wished his fans well.

"Thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to play for the 'Patriot' organization ... fans were f------ wicked awesome, I wish all of you the best..." Ochocinco tweeted.

Lozada, 37, took a lighthearted approach to Ochocinco's new found unemployment, which led to criticisms that she was being insensitive.

"Aww baby you got cut @ochocinco I got your back! I'm the bread winner now, which means I make the rules! #Boom," Lozada tweeted.

The "Basketball Wives" star even joked about getting Ochocinco a job for Father's Day when asked what she would give him as a gift.

"A job lmfaooooo RT @Mr_EvelynLozada: @EvelynLozada what are you getting Chad for "Fathers Day"...?!?," she wrote.

Fans of the free agent also took to Twitter after news of his release broke, with mixed responses.

"I wonder if Evelyn is going to leave Chad now that he's no longer in the League and relevant. No money Chad, no h---," Ray Lipowski tweeted.

"@ochocinco needs to get that "Eye of the Tiger" back!! Watch what he do next tho I feel something epic coming! NFL be prepared!!" Jabril Thomas tweeted.

"@ochocinco do released NFL players qualify for unemployment? #Curious," Nick Risner tweeted.

Lozada was eventually forced to address criticisms that her jokes about Ochocinco's release were inappropriate, with a number of football fans blasting the reality TV personality on Twitter.

"If you don't get my humor with @ochocinco then F off! Not meant for you to 'understand' #Smooches," Lozada tweeted.

"Tweeps know my jabs are all in fun. Can't be so serious all of the time! Enjoy life & laugh!" she later wrote.
