Charlize Theron Shaved Head, Real Reason Behind Drastic New Look (PHOTO)

Charlize Theron recently debuted a newly shaved head while running errands with her son Jackson Theron in Namibia.

The "Prometheus" actress was reportedly forced to get rid of her long blonde locks for the upcoming film "Mad Max 4: Fury Road," in which she plays a character known as "Furiosa," according to Hollywood Life.

The 36-year-old beamed with pride as she flaunted her new look while clutching on to Jackson, an African-American baby boy whom she recently adopted.

"I always knew I would adopt - always," Theron told Access Hollywood's Billy Bush at CinemaCon 2012 in Las Vegas. "My mother found a letter that I wrote when I was 8 years old that said, 'Would you please take me to an orphanage, so that I can go and adopt a baby?' So, I think it's been a while!"

Theron, who stars in the newly released film "Snow White and the Huntsman," always imagined raising a child with a partner but says that she is content and adjusting to life as a single mother.

"I hope [I'll marry], yeah. I always thought it would be a mixture - I never thought that this would be, you know, I don't think any mother aims to be a single mom," Theron said.

"I didn't wish for that, but it happened. It unfolded the way it's supposed to unfold and if in the future I am fortunate enough to meet somebody, yeah, I would totally consider that," she added.

The mother of one admits that the adoption process took some time, and it appears that her patience really paid off.

"The process, it took around two years. My mom said the most beautiful thing. I'm going to cry. She said …'it took me nine months to fall in love with you were growing in my stomach. She's like it took you two years to fall in love with this little baby,'" Theron previously told renowned talk show host Ellen DeGeneres.

"It really took two years of just waiting and then one day it's finally there. It just feels exactly how it's supposed to feel. I don't know how to describe it. It just feels right," she added.
