They have just currently released that civs could have multiple leaders, with Greece having Pericles and Gorgo.

Gorgo and the Greece Civ

Game developer Firaxis and publisher 2K Games have just officially confirmed that "Civilization 6" will indeed feature multiple leaders for the civs. However, only one of these leaders could be chosen by the player. These leaders will be gaining their own unique abilities, so it is important for the players to always think ahead strategically in choosing a leader.

We have already previously reported about Pericles as the leader of Greece civ in "Civilization 6". The known orator and general hails from Athens, and makes the Greece civ don a blue and green color. Meanwhile, Gorgo is the well-known queen of Sparta, and turns the colors of Greece to brown and blue. She is the daughter, the wife, and the mother of three different Spartan kings.

With this, the capital of the Greece civ in "Civilization 6" automatically transfers to Sparta, instead of Athens. Moreover, Gorgo was revered for her wisdom and knowledge, having been much experienced as the woman behind the different Spartan rulers.

Plato's Republic, Hoplite, The Acropolis, and Thermopylae

Per usual, all "Civilization 6" civs and leaders will be gaining their own abilities, which includes Greece and its new leader, Gorgo. The unique ability of Greece remains unchanged, still being Plato's Republic. This gives the players an extra wild card slot whatever the type of government is.

There is no question that Sparta is known for its robust military standing in world history. This now gives the Greece civ the Hoplite as its special military unit in "Civilization 6". The Hoplite will be gaining bonuses once they are located adjacent to another Hoplite unit.

Once again, "Civilization 6" will be giving Greece civ the special district of Acropolis. The well-known Greek landmark is also an architectural marvel. The Acropolis will be giving higher cultural bonus to the neighboring districts. However, the structure entails for it to be built on a hill.

As mentioned earlier, Gorgo will be having a different unique ability than Pericles. Gorgo's unique ability is called Thermopylae. This gives the Greece civ a cultural bonus upon killing or destroying enemies in combat. The civ will be getting 50 percent of the losing opponent's base strength in culture. This combination of offense and cultural development makes the Greece civ a favorable unit early on in "Civilization 6".

Release

"Civilization 6" will be officially released next week, October 21. The game will be playable through PCs running Windows, OS X, and Linux.
