Creflo Dollar's World Changers Church Providing 3,000 Boxes of Thanksgiving Essentials to Needy Families
Pastor Creflo Dollar's World Changers International Church in Georgia has sent 3,000 boxes with everything needed for a traditional Thanksgiving dinner in the Atlanta area, as part of the "Thanksgiving Feeding Families" initiative.
"One of the best ways to express gratitude to God for what He has done for us is to serve others," Dollar said in a statement. "We commend the hundreds of volunteers and those who supported this ministry financially to make it possible for us to serve 3,000 families who need our help this Thanksgiving season."
"Some church volunteers chose to participate as a family as a hands-on servanthood lesson," added Minister Kenneth Terry, director of ministry affairs and outreach. "They arrived early Saturday morning, and many stayed for hours to interact with recipients."

Members and volunteers of the 30,000 congregation helped set up a distribution center in the church's parking lot, where they offered assistance to thousands of needy residents, handing out grocery items to feed a family for Thanksgiving. Volunteers also drove to nearby communities to pick up families in need of transportation to the church.
"Providing a Thanksgiving dinner is just one more way to be Jesus within our community," Dollar noted, whose church has also organized back-to-school drives, youth mentoring programs, health fairs, ministry to the homeless and food and clothing drives for the underprivileged.
"It's a tangible expression of His love to others who need hope at this season and throughout their lives."
Dollar's 2013 Change experience earlier this year also brought a gift of $10,000 to community organizations in each of the six cities he visited as part of his tour, with a mission to bring "preaching and teaching to those who are ready to take the first step toward living a life without worry."
A media release added that the aim of the tour was to shine a spotlight on a local organization in every city, and offer the money as support of its service and dedication to helping improve the community.
"The charity is prayerfully decided and the donation is $10,000," liaisons for the church previously told The Christian Post in an email.
Dollar also participated in August's MegaFest gathering in Dallas, Texas, organized by Bishop T.D. Jakes, joined by a number of notable Christian leaders including Joel Osteen of Lakewood Church, Pastor Sheryl Brady of The Potter's House of North Dallas, Dr. IV Hilliard of New Light Christian Center Church in Houston, and others.
