Abby Lee Miller Leaving 'Dance Moms' Show

After seven seasons in the past six years, dance choreographer and trainer Abby Lee Miller announced she is leaving "Dance Moms" for good.

On Monday, Miller turned to Instagram to reveal her surprising decision that was accompanied by a happy photo of her with some of the kids she worked with on "Dance Moms." Though the photo is a happy one, Miller's announcement is filled with frustration and cited her reasons for leaving the show.

Miller opened up by telling her 3.2 million Instagram followers that the entire time she has been working with Lifetime network for "Dance Moms," she has "asked, begged, and even demanded" to get the "creative credit for all the ideas, award-winning routines, themes, and costuming" used and shown on the show but was given none of it.

"I don't have a problem working with any kid, I love children and have dedicated my life to making other people's children successful," Miller further stated.

Her post became more controversial when she added that her only problem with the show is being "manipulated, disrespected, and used" by men who she said "never took a dance lesson in their lives and treat women like dirt!"

As for Lifetime's side, E! News says the network has not commented yet. However, its report quoted a source purportedly familiar with the production of "Dance Moms" who says that Miller has been difficult to work with.

About a week before Miller made the controversial announcement, one of the dancers on "Dance Moms," Kendall Vertes, shared a photo of herself with the other girls doing a pyramid routine while captioning that it might be their last. This social media post is sparking several speculations that Miller's exit might cause the entire show's collapse but that has not been officially addressed yet.

Meanwhile, a recent development to the story involves "Dancing with the Stars" pro Cheryl Burke. Entertainment Tonight was the first to report that a source confirmed Lifetime had tapped Burke to replace Miller for the next "Dance Moms" seasons. It also looks like its official since according to a more recent report by ET, Burke has already been spotted outside Miller's Los Angeles studio on her first day of filming, saying, "I'm very excited to work with the kids."
