'Dancing with the Stars' season 21 spoilers; interesting cast rumors
Everyone's favorite hit reality competition is back for an all-new season. "Dancing with the Stars" is a dancing competition that features celebrities, personalities, and athletes alike and pairs them up with a professional dancer for the duration of the show to tackle various genres of dance.
In the forthcoming season, fans will still see hosts Tom Bergernon and Erin Andrews on the dance floor. Meanwhile, all the judges are set to return. Len Goodman, Bruno Tonioli, Julianne Hough, and Carrie Ann Inaba will all be back. The show's professional dancers will all be back, as well. Peta Murgatroyd and Artem Chigvintsev can be seen dancing in the promotional posters of the series.
The new season's cast is being kept under wraps until the show airs, but there are some rumors as to who will join. Bachelorette's Kaitlyn Bristowe, actress Lindsey Lohan, singer Nick Jonas, and actress Shay Mitchelle from "Pretty Little Liars" are all in the list of rumored stars. Another rumored star is transgender female Caitlyn Jenner; however, her publicist is saying otherwise. Scott Disick's name has also been floating. Unfortunately, fans will not know who is in the show until it actually airs, so this is all speculation at this point, but there is no doubt that the cast will be very interesting indeed.
The show has featured some very interesting celebrities over the years. Most notable are transgender man Chaz Bono, the son of singer Cher (season 13); Metta World Peace, the basketball player (season 13); and Sugar Ray Leonard, the former boxing champ (season 12).
There are also some very notable winners of the show. J.R Martinez, the former army man who has burns all over his body; Amber Riley, the former "Glee" star; Kellie Pickler, an "American Idol" alum; Drew Lachey, former member of 98 Degrees and younger brother of Nick Lachey; Shawn Johnson, an athlete, the youngest winner at 17; and Donny Osmond, a popular singer.
The reality-based competition has one episode per week. The episode features both the competition proper and the results. The dancing competition happens first as host Tom Bergeron gives out the numbers for voting. The results are given after everyone has performed. The pair with the lowest score and the lowest number of votes is eliminated.
Dancing with the Stars will return on Sept. 21.
