'Downton Abbey' Big News Teased: Michelle Dockery Positive About Movie Release Despite Delays
A special announcement about "Downtown Abbey" is coming soon. The show's official social media pages teased that something big is about to go down and fans were quick to speculate that it could be about the long-awaited movie.
The Facebook page of "Downton Abbey" teased the upcoming big news. A similar post also appeared on the show's Twitter page but the teaser has been deleted soon after the announcement.
A "Downton Abbey" movie rumor has been floating around even before the show bowed out of television in 2015. Series creator Julian Fellowes revealed that he wrote a script and confirmed in June that filming will begin in early 2018.

The cast is still clueless about production plans despite Fellowes' announcement. Some of the actors said that they have heard there is a script but none of them have seen it on paper.
"Yeah, the phantom script – nobody knows. We'll see," star Michelle Dockery, who played Lady Mary on the show, told Independent. She, however, said she remains positive that the movie will happen despite the delays.
"It is proving difficult to get together a big ensemble cast like ours, so we'll just have to see," Dockery said, adding that she would still like to reprise her role because she's not bored about playing Lady Mary.
Joanne Froggatt, who played Lady Mary's handmaiden Anna Bates, also talked about the logistics of getting everyone back on the set again since the actors moved on to different projects. But she also said everyone wants to go back to work on "Downton Abbey."
"There has been a lot of goodwill from all of us, but logistically, it's a bit of a minefield," Froggatt revealed.
"Downton Abbey" earned much praise during its six-season run. The show is a Golden Globe, BAFTA and Emmy winner. It's also on the Guinness World Records as the most critically-acclaimed series in 2011.
