Dying to Meet Him: Anorexia and Grace
Gabrielle "Elle" Devenish, a 30-year-old single Christian woman, was told by doctors that she has 6 months to a year to live.
"My heart, lungs, bones and muscles have all deteriorated beyond repair, according to doctors. My white blood cell count continues to match that of a last-stage chemo patient and my electrolytes are always on the edge."

Grace

"And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.'"
There's been tension in my family starting 17 years ago, with this horrible disease named anorexia. It's unpredictable, sneaky, malicious, deceptive. I know the pain and hurt it's caused emotionally and psychologically, and I know I can never erase those scars. You can patch and repatch a threadbare blanket but you can never take back words, lies, actions and impulses.
However, God, in His mighty Grace, gives us new garments. No patches, not a seam out of place. And we don't have to EARN it. There's no purchase price, save for the cross. As Palm Sunday approaches I thank God for His grace in dealing with me and pray that I can show that grace to others, even after the sewing machine has broken.
