Chip and Joanna Gaines 'Fixer Upper': Clint Harp on Joanna Gaines
"Fixer Upper" star Joanna Gaines has always had a close working relationship with carpenter Clint Harp, who now has his own DIY Network show called "Wood Work." And Harp has nothing but good to say about his frequent collaborator.
While speaking to POPSUGAR, Harp expressed his admiration for Gaines' work ethic and skill. "One of the things I love about Joanna is that she's a very driven person, and she knows what she wants. And so there rarely is ever any confusion," he said. "There's not a lot of guessing for me to do . . . she knows what I can do. She knows how I can deliver. And I know what she's thinking when she says certain things and whatnot."
HGTV's "Fixer Upper" sees Joanna Gaines, along with husband Chip, flipping houses that seem hopeless. She often works with Harp, asking him to make certain wood pieces that she designs herself. Harp, on the other hand, also has a talent when it comes to woodworking--sometimes even making something new and incredibly beautiful out of old pieces.
Harp also has a company called Harp Design Co., which he established with his wife, Kelly. He talked about the Gaineses' talent for flipping houses during a Q&A with DIY Network. "Chip and Joanna can take a complete mess and make it feel like home almost overnight. I've seen it now over and over again. It's truly a gift," he said.
According to POPSUGAR, Gaines and Harp's working relationship started even before "Fixer Upper." Gaines enlisted the help of Harp, who was just starting on his craft at the time, after meeting him through her husband.
As for why he started his company, Harp revealed that he and his wife wanted "to see people gather around tables again" as a family through the beautiful wood pieces that he makes.
"Fixer Upper" airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. EDT on HGTV.
