'Hunter X Hunter' Chapter 361 Updates: Manga to Resume Publication By Month's End?

"Hunter X Hunter" fans may be in for a treat by the end of the month, if current rumors are to be believed. According to some reports, Yoshihiro Togashi may be churning out new chapters of the Japanese manga before February concludes - thanks to the publisher giving the creator an ultimatum.

As fans may know, Togashi has been on a long hiatus since April 2016, when he completed work on chapter 360 of "Hunter X Hunter." The manga artist cited back problems as the reason for his break.

It has been approximately 10 months and no new updates regarding the manga's status have been announced. However, the publisher of "Hunter X Hunter," Weekly Shonen Jump, is apparently getting antsy. Rumor has it that Togashi has been given a deadline by month's end to produce chapter 361 of the series or else it could be handed over to a different artist for continuation. The artist, however, is none other than Naoko Takeuchi, his wife and the manga artist of "Sailor Moon."

This is not the first time Togashi has gone on hiatus due to health complications. In fact, his return to work in April 2016 was after a long break similar to this one. Togashi has been suffering from lower back problems for a long time. However, it has been said that an early 2017 release for chapter 361 of "Hunter X Hunter" may be possible because Togashi's health is reportedly improving.

Even if Togashi does end up getting replaced by his wife, it certainly is not the end of the world. After all, being so close to the person continuing his work will allow him to supervise it more. Hopefully, though, it will not come to that.

Neither Togashi nor Weekly Shonen Jump have confirmed anything as of this time, so readers are advised to take this news with a grain of salt.
