iOS 11 Firmware Leak News: iPhone X Details Revealed Prior to Launching
A new Apple firmware leak has provided more information on the upcoming 10th anniversary iPhone which according to updates, should be launched with the iPhone X.
While the iPhone 8 has been linked with many names, including iPhone Edition and iPhone Pro, the latest leak suggests that the smartphone will be dubbed iPhone X to mark the 10th anniversary of the series. On the other hand, reports suggest that the tech giant could still rename the device before they hit the stores.
The final build of iOS 11 also revealed new features of the iPhone X. The leak suggests that the iPhone X might come with a True Tone Display for the OLED version of the device, the high-end unit. The display should be 5.8 inches.
The leak references a software called FaceID, which can be assumed is responsible for the facial detection system. A setup animation came with the leak which teaches users how to move the device to capture multiple angles of the face.
Moreover, the tech giant has further upgraded the already-impressive portrait mode of the iPhone. According to 9to5Mac, a new Portrait Lighting mode will be available. This will make users produce DSLR-quality photos.
Apple has also upgraded the phone's video recording capabilities. The iPhone X should come with a new video recording resolution and capture speeds. As previously rumored, from the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus' 4k at 30 frames per second, the new device should have 4k at 60 frames per second.
Furthermore, through 3D sensors users will be able to use a new messenger app called Animoji which should create emojis that mirror users' facial expressions as well as their own voices.
Apple has yet to address these rumors. More information will be revealed at the event this Tuesday, Sept. 12 which will take place at the Steve Jobs Theatre on the new campus in Cupertino, California.
