iPod Touch 6G: Will Apple Launch New iPod Now iPhone 6 Is Released?

The past few months has been rocked with a lot of tech news and with the release of Apple's two new versions of its iPhone, even greater buzz is now circulating around new devices. However, the iPhones are not the only product on everyone's minds, many are also now looking towards the Cupertino-based tech giant for another product – the iPod Touch 6G.

It has long been speculated that the 6th Gen iPod Touch will also come along with other upcoming devices such as the iPad Air 2 and the iPad Mini 3, all of which are rumored to be unveiled at the slated iPad event. The said event is reported to happen around October 2014, a month after the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus launch affair.

Now people are wondering what to expect on the forthcoming device?

Tech experts have pointed out the 5th Gen iPod Touch was released two years ago following the reveal of the iPhone 5S. It garnered a lot of positive reviews for the major changes applied in the iPod Touch line.

It was designed closely similar to the iPhone 5, with a 4-inch display, a slim body, and multiple color options. It was also integrated with Siri and iSight to virtually complement it with the iPhone device.

With that in mind, some believe that the tech giant could carry out the same pattern with the purported iPod Touch 6G and release it in the aftermath of the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus.

Other reports also indicated that it will be incorporated with the upcoming iOS 8, the latest OS which will be available for download this week, and the Touch ID, Apple's signature tool for greater convenience and security.

Still others say that it wouldn't veer far away from the looks of the previous iPod Touch. As of to date, there hasn't been any updates or any official announcements on this issue. Some rumors are even claiming that Apple may not even launch an iPod 6G, and is looking to move away from the device. Whether that's true or not remains to be seen in the coming weeks and months.
