Jessica Biel Prays She Won't Curse in Front of Tim Tebow at ESPYs, Hangs Out With QB and Jeremy Lin
Tim Tebow and Jeremy Lin may be Christian athletes who won honors at the 2012 ESPY Awards Wednesday night, but actress Jessica Biel was the one going to God in prayer in the presence of the two professional athletes.
Biel posed with Tebow and Lin backstage at the awards show that took place in Los Angeles and tweeted about encountering the Christian athletes, namely Tebow. After reports surfaced about Tebow requesting that a stylist at a Los Angeles salon refrain from cursing, Biel tweeted a prayer about curbing her own profanity.
"Dear God, please don't let me swear in front of @timtebow at the #espys tonight when we present," the actress tweeted.
While the actress seemed to keep her composure with her language, Tebow posed with Biel and Lin in images showcasing their outfits and silly side. In one image posted to Lin's Twitter account, the Asian-American point guard poses with a crown and oversized sunglasses, while Tebow dons a fake mustache and Biel tries on a pair of spectacles.
Tebow, 24, presented an award with Biel and won ESPY honors for the "Best Moment" of the year for an overtime pass that helped his former Denver Broncos team defeat the Pittsburgh Steelers in a playoffs game last season. The New York Jets player thanked God and his team after accepting the honor.
"First of all I just want to thank my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ," Tebow said. "..I also want to congratulate and thank all of my old teammates take care of them Peyton. When we were 1-4 not many people gave us a chance last year. We believed in each other, we believed in ourselves and we tried to make something special happen. When you put in a lot of hard work special things can happen."
Tebow was not the only high-profile Christian athlete to win at the ESPYS and he presented an award to Lin for "Best Breakthrough Athlete."
"I just want to first of all thank God for this opportunity to be here, it's been an unbelievable year," Lin said of his rise to fame last season.
The starter for the New York Knicks last season went on to thank his teammates and fans and posted a picture online of himself with Biel and Tebow after the festivities.
