Lecrae Releases Preview Video for Upcoming 'Church Clothes' Mixtape

Lecrae's break into the mainstream is just days away and the emcee who made his name by preaching about Christ has released a video preview of his upcoming "Church Clothes" Mixtape.

The video features some legends in the hip-hop game including one of the greatest producers of all time, DJ Premier, giving the Atlanta rapper his cosign.

"Church Clothes" will be different from Lecrae's previous albums and will feature collaborations with mainstream emcees including No Malice (formerly Malice of the Clipse) who is now a professed believer in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Lecrae even receives a cosign from Kendrick Lamar in the video, who is arguably the hottest rapper coming out of the west coast.

The video also features a clip of one of his new songs from the mixtape that has Lecrae rapping in the shoes of someone who is disillusioned with their life and the things they see around them.

However, it is only a clip, so fans will have to wait for the mixtape to drop in order to get the full message.

Lecrae released the artwork for "Church Clothes" and also spoke about the project to Christian hip-hop website Rapzilla in an interview earlier this week.

"This mixtape is aimed at the mainstream and is raw uncut hip-hop," said Lecrae to the site. "This is totally different from my past releases, and I hope I can build a bridge between my current fans and create new ones."

Church Clothes will be hosted by Affiliates DJ Don Cannon, a close associate of mixtape king DJ Drama, who has worked with everyone from Lil Wayne to 50 Cent.

The mixtape will be available on May 10 and will also feature production from Christian producer Boi-1-da who has created hits for rappers such as Eminem and Drake.
