Linsanity news: Jeremy Lin asks fans to 'pray for one another' as he starts praying for them
While Jeremy Lin remains in circles of basketball debate topics due to the many issues he has been involved in with his previous teams, the Hornets' new guard has taken the extra mile for his fans, asking them to "pray for one another" as he also starts praying for them.
In an email he sent to the online prayer group he created almost a year ago, the "Linsanity" star first thanked his fans for being "such an awesome prayer support group" then he later explained in the email entitled "Jeremy Lin Prayer Requests 11" that the next prayer request email "will be a collection of prayer requests sent in by YOU guys!"
According to Praise Charlotte, Lin said the requests should be emailed until Tuesday, Sept. 22. He assured his followers and fans that no name or personal info will be included when he sends out the prayer requests.
The email also includes prayer requests for his brother, who has just started his professional basketball career back in Taiwan. Lin asked his fans to pray that his brother would continue to lean on God and let his relationship with the Master flourish.
Aside from the prayer requests, the NBA star also gave some words of encouragement to his fans as he pointed to himself as an example of desire to grow in Christ. "I'm hoping that I can really strengthen my prayer life and take it to another level," he said." Prayer is an act of submission and humility, and I want to have random prayers throughout the day be more instinctual."
In the basketball star's official website, a page is set aside solely for the purpose of subscribing to his and his fans' prayer list. The page also encourages fans to share their concerns and anything else they would want a prayer support for.
Following a rough and criticism-filled ride with the Los Angeles Lakers, Lin has said in previous interviews that he is looking forward to a smooth transition, as well as a wonderful experience now that he is with the Charlotte Hornets.
