Los Angeles Lakers Trade Rumors 2016: Chicago Bulls Looking To Trade Joakim Noah To Lakers?
The Chicago Bulls are looking to trade big man Joakim Noah to the Los Angeles Lakers.
According to a report by SportsBlog.com's All About Rookies, trade rumors surrounding the 30-year-old Noah have continued, as the Lakers are actually showing interest.
The report adds that despite being in the injured list, Noah could still be a big plus for the Lakers, since the team is currently in a rebuilding phase and would not likely be contending for any championships in the near future.
"Joakim Noah riding the pine isn't really going to make much of a negative impact to their team. However, the experienced Noah would be able to help and provide Julius Randle with advice during the remainder of this season," an excerpt of the report reads.
The report also noted that Noah being on the sidelines would not be a problem for the Lakers if they do intend to sign him, since they would be given ample time to come up with a good enough deal.
Noah is believed to be out for the remainder of the season after suffering from a shoulder injury in mid-January. He has already undergone surgery for the said injury and is expected to be out for four to six months.
Joakim Noah was selected in the first round (9th pick overall) by the Chicago Bulls in the 2007 NBA Draft.
Throughout his career, he has earned various honors, including Defensive Player of the Year in 2014 and was a two-time member of the NBA All-Defensive First team from 2013-2014. He also made two NBA All-Star appearances in the same years.
For the current season alone, Noah has played in 29 games in total and is averaging 4.3 points, 8.8 rebounds, 1.0 blocks, 3.8 assists, and 0.6 steals, through 21.9 minutes of playing time per game.
The Bulls currently hold the sixth spot at the Eastern Conference standings with a record of 27-21.
