Maybach Six Figure Rebate Enticing Buyers
Makers of a luxury automobile are enticing potential buyers with a $100,000 rebate on their purchases in an effort to move cars off the lot.
Luxury car maker Maybach which is part of the Daimler Company, which also owns Mercedes-Benz, is trying to sell its ultra-lux Type 57 and Type 62 sedans by offering a rebate for buyers which can be up to $100,000 cash back to buyers.
Even with that generous rebate these high-end sedans still will set buyers back a few hundred thousands of dollars. The Maybach Type 57 has a starting asking price of $376,300 and with various options can run as high as $416,200.
The Type 62 starts at $427,700 and with additional amenities can reach towards the half million dollar mark at $467,600.
The reason for the very lucrative rebate is not just a promotional ploy to clear space from the dealer's floor but to mark the decision by company officials to end production for the Maybach.
Daimler made the decision to end the production of the Maybach brand at the end of the model year.
"Daimler has not turned a penny profit on Maybach since 2002 when it was introduced," according to Forbes.
The German company explained that it will focus its attention of building special, limited edition versions of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class which would include a long-wheel-base version to head its line of luxury vehicles.
There are many features that those with means would find desirable. The Maybach Type 57 comes with a V-12 engine to provide enough power no matter the situation.
The upholstery is hand fitted leather and the trim is hand polished wood with leather accents. The car also comes with a Bose sound system complete with 21 speakers along with other features that push the price tag above $400,000.
