Megachurch Pastor Joseph Prince Coming to US for First American Preaching Tour
Singapore-based, megachurch pastor Joseph Prince is set to break ground in the United States for his first U.S. preaching tour, 'Power Of Right Believing USA Tour 2013,' where he will promote his new book The Power of Right Believing: 7 Keys to Freedom From Fear, Guilt & Addiction, and share the gospel message throughout select cities.
Prince is the lead pastor at New Creation Church, a fast-growing congregation of over 30,000, and already known for his international broadcast ministry that reaches 680 million households in 200 countries. However, despite his worldwide prominence, he admits that his recognition in the U.S. is humbling.
"I'm just as overwhelmed as anybody. Just one word; grace. [It is] the undeserved, unmerited favor of God that I strongly believe in," said Prince, during an interview with Fox News. "I am deeply moved and humbled. I still have to pinch myself sometimes because it's not about me, it's about the unveiling of the wonderful person of Jesus Christ."

Prince will spend time in Newark, Los Angeles, Houston, and Dallas beginning November 1, during which time he will mainly focus on speaking on the seven keys he writes about in his book, including believing in God's love, learning to see what God sees, receiving God's complete forgiveness, winning the battle of the mind, becoming free from self-occupation, having a confident expectation of good, and finding rest in the Father's love.
Out of those key elements, Prince says deliverance from self-occupation to Christ's occupation is the one that strikes him the most.
"It's not about us, it's about Jesus. People have forgotten that Jesus didn't come to give us more loss, He said, 'I come so that you may have life and have it more abundantly.'
He continued, "Jesus spoke to the Jews of His day who grew up steeped in the law, but they were still bound by fear, guilt, bondage, addiction and destructive habits and Jesus said to them, 'you shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free,' so it obviously was not the law that would set them free but the grace and truth."
Winning the battle over negative thoughts is another point that Prince emphasized that he will also include in his messages as he travels throughout the country.
"What you believe is very powerful. If you have toxic emotions of fear, guilt and depression it is because you have wrong thinking and you have wrong thinking because of wrong believing," said Prince. "I'm not saying everything out there is bad and toxic but there are some things that are not scriptural for example some people don't understand that the law was given by Moses but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ."
Grace is an important theme for Prince, who emphasized that it is because of grace that he is able to have his ministry, which grew from what he called humble beginnings during the early 1980s from an average of 25 members to the multisite congregation that it is now.
According to Prince, Singapore limits the amount of land allotted to religious groups. In response, his church decided to build a multimillion, world-class concert hall "to be a blessing to Singapore" that is rented out for various events and where they hold services.
"I wouldn't say it's an empire [his ministry] but the church has a business, not me. In fact, I'm just a volunteer at the church, I no longer draw salary for a number of years now, I just live off my intellectual property," said Prince, referring to his stream of revenue from books, music and sermon messages.
Prior to beginning his ministry, Prince says he "cut his spiritual teeth" as a teenager through the scriptural teachings of evangelist Kenneth Hagin and through an Asian author and preacher known as Watchmen Knee.
