Mel Gibson Rant Tape Goes Viral

A tape recording of Mel Gibson in an expletive-laced rant has been made available online for anyone brave enough to listen to it.

The two and a half minute recording of Gibson captures the actor on a tirade last December while he was hosting the screenwriters of "The Maccabees," Randall Wallace and Joe Eszterhas, at his Costa Rican home.

The rant was reportedly recorded by Eszterhas' 15-year-old son, Nick, who was staying with Gibson along with his dad. It was also believed that several members of Gibson's household staff and their children were also present during his rant.

"Why don't I have a first draft of 'The Maccabees'? What the [bleep] have you been doing?" Gibson said in reference to a film project that Gibson was expected to direct about the Jewish uprising which is celebrated during the holiday of Hanukkah.

A short while later Gibson turned his attention to his former girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva.

"I am earning money for a filthy little [bleep]sucker who takes advantage of me!"

In July of 2010, another audio recording of Gibson was released online which reveals the actor verbally abusing the mother of his daughter. Gibson can also be heard on that tape threatening Grigorieva.

Eszterhas has since written a letter in which he addresses Gibson's actions and also reveals why he thinks the project they were working on ultimately failed. Eszterhas wrote, "I've come to the conclusion that the reason you won't make 'The Maccabees' is the ugliest possible one. You hate Jews."

Gibson quickly issued his own letter as a response and called Eszterhas' accusations "utter fabrications."

"Honestly, Joe, not only was the script delivered later than you promised, both Warner Brothers and I were extraordinarily disappointed with the draft…I will acknowledge like most creative people I am passionate and intense; I did react more strongly than I should have," Gibson wrote in the statement.
