'NCIS: New Orleans' Season 4 Spoilers: Pride's Replacement to Make the Squad Suffer
Pride (Scott Bakula) is going to be on probation as a consequence of his thoughtless actions against Mayor Hamilton (Steven Weber) in the next season of "NCIS: New Orleans."
The synopsis for the season's premiere episode is out, and according to CarterMatt, things will not go so well for Pride. The higher ups will make sure that he will reflect on his mistake from the previous episode. When it became obvious that the NCIS could not take down Hamilton the proper way, Pride went rogue and abducted him. Under threat of torture, he made the politician admit all his criminal activities. When the series returns this September, Pride will be suspended for six weeks. A new leader will temporarily be assigned to his team. Supervisory Special Agent Paula Boyd (Becky Ann Baker) is reportedly a reasonable woman, but the squad will still feel that she is out to get them all.
LaSalle (Lucas Black) and the others will also feel the injustice since they were not allowed to participate in a case involving a big rig of nuclear waste that was stolen. Based on the spoilers, FBI agents will arrive to take charge of the investigation, which forces the NOLA team to work on the sidelines. Boyd may also be keeping them in check, allowing the people from the Bureau to take the lead. Pride's colleagues will certainly look forward to his return for things to get back to normal. There are speculations, though, that the senior agent may not return to NCIS at all.
Rumors indicate that Pride may choose to resign from his job and focus on managing his own bar. He may be feeling slighted because of the disciplinary actions the NCIS heaped on him when he knows he just did what he thought was best. If not for him, Hamilton's illegal activities might never have been exposed. A six-week probation may not be that long, but for someone who lives on adrenaline like Pride does, it will be torture. Perhaps, he will spend it with his only daughter, whom he has not bonded with for a long time because of work.
"NCIS: New Orleans" is expected to return on Sept. 26 at 10 p.m. EDT on CBS.
