'NCIS' Season 12 Spoilers, Plot News: Recap of Episode 18 'Status Update'

This week on "NCIS," the NCIS team works with Delilah, McGee's girlfriend, in a joint operation to catch someone who murdered a thief in a marine's house, and the NCIS discovers a calling card of a terror group Delilah and the Department of Defense has been tracking.

"Status Update" starts with the team being called to investigate the murder of a woman in a house that belongs to Marine Sergeant Holt Perkins, and while everybody assumed that the victim is his wife, everyone is puzzled when Perkins appears to be relieved upon getting a glimpse of the body.

It turns out that the woman is not his wife at all. The victim is a thief named Mallory Bleeker, who targeted the house because Perkin's wife posted on her online profile that she'll be in a spa for four days and her husband was deployed.

Ducky finds a calling card in the victim's bra, and while Mallory's brother could not identify the logo on the card, McGee recognizes it and calls Delilah.

Delilah tells McGee that the symbol belongs to a terror group named Dragon's Tooth. She has been tracking them for a long time, and she says that the group targets family members who post that their family member is deployed. Delilah says that she and her task force leader, Rafi, are particularly after Omer Malik. Omer happens to be following Perkins' wife's profile, and Malik also happens to be related to the accomplices in the bombing that paralyzed Delilah.

Abby discovers that Malik is supposed to meet someone named Pistachio, so the team goes to Malik's apartment, only to find his roommate there. They set up their own op, and when Pistachio arrives, they discover that it's Delilah and she's been undercover.

Apparently, Malik has been making tapes of himself going to military houses and doing things to make people wonder if someone has been in their home. In one video, Malik is in Perkins' uniform and is saluting the camera.

Malik follows McGee to Delilah's safehouse, and while the two are talking about their relationship, Malik knocks on the door. McGee opens it without thinking, and sees Malik. Delilah manages to convince Malik that she's on his side and she wants to join him. Malik tells her to prove it by killing McGee.

McGee tries to let her know the gun's not loaded by telling her it's a test. It just so happens that Delilah has a knife in her shoe and manages to stab Malik, giving the team enough time to take him down.

Delilah gets a promotion, which allows her to spend more time in the country and be with McGee.

"NCIS" airs on Tuesdays at 8 p.m. on CBS.
