Nick Lachey Baby Boy Arrives, Parents Celebrate

Nick Lachey and his wife Vanessa Minnillo have become proud parents to their new baby boy on Wednesday.

The happy couple confirmed the news on Thursday adding their delight over their first-born.

"We are incredibly proud to announce the birth of our beautiful baby boy, Camden John Lachey," they said in a statement to MTV News. "Born [Wednesday] at 6:54 p.m., he came into this world at 8 lbs., 90 oz. and 21 inches. Love has truly been redefined for both of us."

Lachey, 38, first announced the new addition to his family in March while serving as host on "Live! With Kelly."

"I've had the chance to do a lot of great things in my career and in my life," said the 98 Degrees singer at the time. "But this is the one thing, that more than any other, I've looked forward to."

Minnillo, 31, wed Lachey in Necker Island on July 15, 2011. It was the television personality's first marriage, while it was Lachey's second; he was married to Jessica Simpson from 2002 to 2005.

Ever since the pregnancy announcement, the couple has anxiously anticipated baby Camden's arrival.

"I can't even explain how excited I am," Lachey told People magazine in August. "For someone who has wanted a family for such a long time, I've looked forward to this moment. Now that it's almost here, it's awesome."

Also, the couple was very open about their anxiety over the baby's arrival.

"The nursery's ready, we got the stroller, we got the car seat. Now it's just emotionally figuring out what we do, and I don't think that ever ends," revealed Lachey while speaking to Us Weekly a few months ago.

"I've assembled a couple strollers at this point and I'm pretty confident," he added. "If my brother (Drew Lachey) can handle putting in a car seat, I feel like I have a pretty good chance. If he can do it, anyone can do it!"

Despite her recent delivery, Minnillo has stated that starting a family will not prevent her from continuing her career.

"I would love to have children and work," the former Miss Teen USA told People last year. "I definitely don't want it to slow me down. I'm always going to be, 'Go, go, go.'"
