Saitama Loses His Powers Because of New Love Interest in 'One-Punch Man' Season 2?

Love may be in the air for the titular bald-headed hero of "One-Punch Man," as season 2 rumors claim that a romantic interest may be introduced. However, as with many other relationships, it may come with consequences.

The first season of the Japanese anime series introduced Saitama, the hero who can take out any enemy with just one punch. And while it was certainly interesting to see him go against villains in season 1, it will be equally intriguing to see how he behaves when struck by Cupid's arrow.

Speculations are rife that the second season will feature Saitama falling in love with a girl. Her identity is yet unknown, but it has been said that the character is a new one. However, it is believed that his newfound feelings for this woman will result in Saitama losing his powers.

It remains to be seen how this will happen. But as with any other superhero, if the villain finds out about a love interest, it always means that the latter will be in danger. Saitama's enemies could use this girl as leverage over him, which may lead to him becoming powerless.

This will be particularly bad for the hero since season 2 is expected to feature a lot of new villains for Saitama to face. Apart from Garou and the Monster Association, Lord Boros is also believed to return with a vengeance. It can be recalled that Saitama defeated Lord Boros in season 1 after an intense battle.

And while it is rumored that Saitama will lose his powers, there has also been talk of him gaining new ones in the second season. Aside from that, the Japanese anime series is expected to shed some light on the hero's past, particularly focusing on how he got his abilities.

"One-Punch Man" season 2 does not have a release date yet, but it is expected to premiere in mid-2017 to 2018.
