Pastor Shot in Head During Road Rage Incident Says 'Angels Took the Bullet for Me ... You Could Literally See Where Bullet Stopped'
A 22-year-old West Palm Beach, Florida, pastor who police say was shot in the head when stranger fired bullets at him during a road rage incident in July, recently declared at a fundraiser for his family that "angels took the bullet for me."
"I've come to lift up the name of Jesus," screamed the young pastor and father of two, Steven Simon, into a microphone still sporting a bandage on his forehead at the St. John Haitian United Methodist Church in Boynton Beach where the fundraiser was held two Saturdays ago, according to WPTV.
"I can say that there were angels that took the bullet for me … and you could literally see where the bullet had stopped. It was almost like God said, 'you can't go any further than this,'" he added with conviction as the church erupted in praise.

He said one bullet lodged right between his eyes and doctors predicted a bleak recovery. Two Saturdays later, however, the young pastor spoke to his church full of conviction and no sign of pain.
"And the doctors said that I may never see in the eye again. Doctors declared that I might be a vegetable. Doctors declared that I may never have the same personality, but I'm here today," declared Simon with a "hallelujah."
According to Martin County Police in a Palm Beach Post report, Simon was shot on Interstate 95 in Martin County on July 31. The pastor and the suspected shooter were allegedly jockeying for position in northbound traffic at about 10 p.m. between the Hobe Sound and Kanner Highway exits.
When the dueling drivers got back to highway speeds a driver of a beige two-door vehicle fired one or two shots, hitting Simon in the head at least once, according to the report.
