Peaches Geldof Drops Infant Baby, But Stays on Cell Phone (PHOTO)

Peaches Geldof, the second daughter of Bob Geldof and Paula Yates, has received widespread backlash for dropping her infant son while strolling through the streets of London but proceeding to talk on her cell phone.

The British model was photographed pushing her son Astala in a stroller as she chatted away on her cell phone. Although her baby accidentally tumbled out of the stroller and onto the pavement, the 23-year-old did not feel compelled to drop her cell phone and instead proceeded with the conversation as she struggled to help pick him back up.

Following the incident, Geldof took to Twitter where she blasted a U.K. tabloid for printing what she described as being an "accusatory story" about what had happened.

She also attempted to explain the mishap before criticizing the state of the city's sidewalks, which she suggested caused her 4-month-old son's fall.

"Was just walking with Astala in his pram and there was a massive hole in the pavement I didn't see as was pushing the pram and the pram fell into it and toppled over! Thankfully Astala didn't fall out as was strapped in and so didnt get hurt at all or cry. But still the London pavements are SO dangerous!" Geldof wrote in a number of tweets.

"The mayor of london should do something about it it's ridiculous! Thank god Astala is ok! X," another post read.

"For the record, he WAS strapped in, the weight of his body popped the buckle open as he fell. And he was totally fine, wasn't hurt AT ALL and didn't cry," she later tweeted.

Hundreds of critics, including British reality star Jack Osbourne, blasted Geldof over the incident with many suggesting that she is a bad mother.

"She is a complete idiot. I'd like to give her a piece of my mind!" Osbourne tweeted.

"OH. MY. GOD. How does this even happen?? She needs to get off the phone and pay attention," Emily Godiva Rose tweeted.

"Peaches Geldof is the worst mother ever for letting her baby fall out of it's stroller and keeps talking on her phone," Shae Roberts tweeted.
