Relient K nominated for GRAMMY

With the numerous leaps Gotee Records’ Relient K has made with recording Two Lefts Don’t Make a Right, But Three Do, it is only right they were nominated for a GRAMMY in the Best Rock Gospel Album category. The 46th Annual GRAMMY Awards will be held on Feb. 8 at Staples Center in Los Angeles and will be broadcast on the CBS Television Network from 8-11:30 p.m. EST/PST. This will be Relient K’s first time receiving a GRAMMY nomination.

"We're really honored to be nominated for a Grammy this year," says Relient K lead singer Matthew Thiessen. "Its something that we didn't really think would ever happen. And we're all really fond of their crackers."

Two Lefts Don't Make a Right, But Three Do was well-received among listeners who bought over 30,000 copies during the first week and about 240,000 copies in the course of eight months. The album debuted at No.38 on theBillboard’s top album chart.

Inspite of unprecedented success, Thiessen doesn’t forget God. He adds, "Yet, the band never loses sight of its faith in these matters, always finding God at the end of their collective ropes."

In addition to Two Lefts Don't Make a Right, But Three Dowhich is available in 5 different album covers, Relient K has two more albums out in the market. The fifth album cover came packaged with the group’s Christmas album, Deck the Halls, Bruise Your Hand. For VeggieTales’ movieJonah, Relient K also released the single “The Pirates Who Don’t Do Anything.” These three albums add up tosales totaling half a million copies.

"Chap Stick, Chapped Lips, and Things Like Chemistry" was a single that was so popular it stayed on top half of college radio charts for two months then went to commercial alternative radio. MTV2, Much Music, and FUSE have all aired the band’s music video.

Relient K recently finished the Everybody Wants to Rule the World Tour with special guests Anberlin and Don't Look Down.
