'Resident Evil 7' Release Date News: Rumored To Be Built Based On Unreal Engine 4, VR Compatible?

Fans of the "Resident Evil" video game series continue to wait for updates about its seventh installment. According to Daily Sun Knoxville, it's still not known when "Resident Evil 7" will be developed and when it will be made available for PCs and consoles.

A report by Christian Today stated that the game was supposed to have a simultaneous release with "Halo 5." But fans will have to wait for a little while before they get to see the next game in the series as Capcom is currently interested on working with the multiplayer shooter "Umbrella Corps." The game is set aside for now.

But that doesn't stop reports from talking about it. According to Master Herald, the game is going to make some significant changes in the gameplay. It is also said that they will incorporate advanced technology on a higher level and build it with Epic's Unreal Engine 4, the same gadget used in "Kingdom Hearts 3" and "Shenmue 3."

This leads to the speculation that the game will come with Virtual Reality support. There's no official word about it yet but if it pushes through, the franchise will move forward by a large margin and it is certain to get a lot of attention.

Venture Capital Post reported that the "Resident Evil 7" will perhaps serve as a salvation for the series since with the past games, it has left a lot of gamers disappointed. Capcom hopes to get back its former glory before "Resident Evil 6" and the solution they thought of include adding in three new characters. One of the characters is said to be Alice from the movie franchise of the same name. The other two are unnamed female characters.

"Resident Evil" is the first survival horror video game. It was released back in 1996 and was remastered and released in early 2015 for Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, PS4 and PC.
