Samsung Galaxy Note Edge vs OnePlus One Specs Review: Comparison of Features, Price

The Samsung Galaxy Note Edge and OnePlus One are two of the most unique phones that came out in 2014. The OnePlus One piqued the interest of tech fans when it was announced that getting hold of the device isn't going to be easy, as they had an invitation-to-buy policy to get a unit. Moreover, the device comes with premium specs at a low price. Meanwhile, the Galaxy Note Edge made waves last year as it has a touchscreen that wraps around one edge of the display.

Here, we compare the two devices:

Design:
The Galaxy Note Edge has a leather-like coating at the back of the phone. It measures 5.96 x 3.24 x 0.33 inches and weighs 6.1 ounces. The handset is available in black and white.

The OnePlus One has subtle curves at the edges and a chrome outer rim surrounding the display. The phone measures 6.02 x 2.99 x 0.35 inches and weighs 5.71 ounces and is available in black and white.

Features:
The Galaxy Note Edge's wow factor is its display, which is made of one continuous piece of glass on top of the flexible AMOLED display beneath. Instead of having a straight right spine, the curve joins the back of the phone. The 5.6-inch display has a resolution of 2560 x 1600 and pixel density of 524ppi.

Meanwhile, the OnePlus One has a 5.5-inch IPS LCS display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and pixel density of 401ppi.

The Samsung phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 quad core processor and runs on the Android 5.0 Lollipop, while the OnePlus One has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 and runs on the Android 4.4 KitKat.

The Galaxy Note Edge comes with 32GB of internal storage which can be expanded with a microSD card up to 64GB. The OnePlus One does not have a microSD card slot, but it comes with 64GB memory out of the box.

The Samsung phone has a 16MP rear camera and 3.7MP front facing shooter, while the OnePlus One has a 13MP rear camera and 5MP front camera.

Price:
Off contract, the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge costs $400, while the OnePlus One costs $299.
