George Zimmerman's Wife Arrested; Shellie Zimmerman Accused of Lying About Finances
Shellie Zimmerman, the wife of neighborhood watchman George Zimmerman who is facing second-degree murder charges, was charged with perjury on Tuesday for allegedly lying about her husband's finances.
Zimmerman was forced to return to jail after Florida prosecutors accused him of giving misleading information concerning his finances. The former neighborhood watchman known for killing an unarmed 17-year-old Trayvon Martin reportedly raised thousands of dollars while in hiding.
However, both Zimmerman and his wife reportedly lied about the amount of money they had during George's bond hearing. Circuit Judge Kenneth Lester detailed why George's bond would be revoked on June 1.

"It is apparent that [Shellie] Zimmerman testified untruthfully at the bond hearing. The Defendant also testified, but did not alert the Court to the misinformation," the judge said. "Had the Court been made aware of the true financial circumstances at the bond hearing, the bond decision might have been different."
While George turned himself into authorities on June 3, a warrant was issued for 25-year-old Shellie's arrest on charges of perjury. The Seminole County Sheriff's Office reportedly issued the warrant for Zimmerman's 25-year-old wife. She was arrested at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
Shellie was reportedly taken to the same facility as George. Her bond was set at $1,000, according to Fox News. The news station reported that she was in the process of making bail.
George, 28, will appear in court on June 29 for a new bond hearing to explain what his attorney Mark O'Mara has called a misunderstanding concerning the couple's finances.
