'Sister Wives' Season 8 Updates: Kody Brown Going Through Midlife Crisis; TV Show Income Only Means of Support?

Kody Brown has been dealing with a lot of things during the past seasons of "Sister Wives." In the upcoming eighth season, he is said to be facing his midlife crisis.

During the past weeks, Kody has been rumored to add two more wives into his already huge family. He already has four wives and 18 children. With his decision to add two more wives, the show has been threatened to cancel.

TLC was not very happy about Kody adding wives even though there has been no confirmation for the matter.

The four wives love him. They are all willing to stand by Kody for the sake of the family. His first wife, Meri, has been with him for more than 25 years. Janelle has stood by him and has been a good wife for 22 years, while Christine has been there for him for 21 years. Lastly, Robyn has been with him for five years. Meri had to give up being the legal wife so Kody could marry Robyn and adopt her children from her past marriage.

At 47 years old, Kody has made his family intact despite its size. At this point in his life, Kody has been experiencing his midlife crisis. He has been hot-headed lately. This has been due to the lack of support from his wives. Kody also stressed out that he no longer wants to have an additional child in the family. This would certainly mean that something might be bothering him.

Kody's Income

Reports note that Kody has been supporting his family from the income he is making in the show. There is no clear explanation as of yet about his source of income before the show. It was reported that he filed bankruptcy when he was still with Meri. The report stated that Kody owed $200,000 then. It seems that the only income Kody has as of now is the show.

If Sister Wives Season 8 gets confirmed, the main theme of the show may be the wives' uprising. The four wives clearly do not want to add more to the family, especially more wives. After Robyn, this may be the most that they can handle in the family.

With Kody going through his midlife crisis and the network not confirming another season yet, this may be something that the family will have to go through together.

For now, there is no confirmed date as to when the show will return.
