SNES Classic Edition Stock Latest News Update: New Nintendo Console Sells Out in Minutes

When Nintendo launched the NES Classic last year, it failed to keep up with the unexpected high demand for the mini console. As the company planned the release of the Super NES Classic Edition this year, it intended to replicate their previous success but hoped to be able to have enough supply to meet the demand of their consumers.

It has only been a few days since Nintendo released its SNES Classic, but it is already having a hard time keeping up with the extremely high demand for the console. According to reports, the company seems to be facing the same scenario it had when it released the NES Classic in 2016, where the mini console was plagued with a troubled rollout due to the large number of people wanting to get their hands on it.

Unlike the NES Classic which was not made available for preselling, pre-orders for the SNES Classic started in Aug. 22. However, it quickly sold out within minutes at major online stores, including Amazon, Target, Wal-Mart, Best Buy and GameStop. After the product sold out, Nintendo announced that those who would like to get their hands on the console but were not able to pre-order could still get the new gaming device since the company promised to make more units of the SNES Classic available for purchase.

Nintendo kept its promise and made more units available in retail outlets, but the extremely high call for it was just too tough to handle. According to reports, retailers were already sold out as of midday of Friday, the same day that the SNES Classic was launched.

Nintendo has not yet confirmed yet if it would restock more units of the console in the coming days. However, new reports suggest that the gaming device could reportedly sporadically return throughout the holiday season.
