'Spectre' Movie News: Is Daniel Craig Really Done with Being 007?

"Spectre" will be hitting the cinemas soon, and as of now, everyone is after the current James Bond, Daniel Craig, for an interview. However, it seems that Craig may not be as enthusiastic about the role anymore unlike everyone else. The actor, who is quite notorious for being incredibly blunt in the interviews, recently said strong words about his future thoughts on the character he is playing.

In a recent interview with Time Out, Craig had been more than honest when he was asked if he can see himself portraying the spy in another movie. Craig answered, "Now? I'd rather break this glass and slash my wrists. No, not at the moment. Not at all. That's fine. I'm over it at the moment. We're done. All I want to do is move on." Albeit harsh to say for a character that has made him a household name, it is quite important to take note that he did say "at the moment," meaning now that he's just finished another movie. Many defended that the actor was exhausted from the 8-month shooting in Morocco that had just finished.

The interviewer then further clarified if Craig was ready to move on from the iconic role, in which Craig replied more clearly, "I haven't given it any thought. For at least a year or two, I just don't want to think about it. I don't know what the next step is. I've no idea. Not because I'm trying to be cagey. Who the fuck knows? At the moment, we've done it. I'm not in discussion with anybody about anything. If I did another Bond movie, it would only be for the money."

Craig also expressed in the interview that he doesn't care so much for who plays Bond after him, just as long as they "make it better" since he's left the franchise in a "good place." Having produced the highest-grossing film with Skyfall at $1 billion, it's safe to say that the next Bond has more pressure than any of the character's past successors.

For now, many look forward to what Craig will be bringing this time around when "Spectre" hit theaters on Oct. 26 in the United Kingdom, and globally one week after.
