Star Wars Battlefront 3 Release Date: Launch Coincides With Star Wars Episode 7 Movie?
Latest tidbits about the upcoming action video game by EA Digital Illusions CE, Star Wars Battlefront 3, indicated that the movie inspired game is likely to be launched closer to the date in which the film "Star Wars Episode VII" will hit the theaters in 2015.
Although the claims are yet to be confirmed, Movie Pilot stated in their report EA chief financial officer Blake J. Jorgensen estimated that the game unveiling will possibly happen in the "summertime next year."
Further reports from KPopstarz and Starwars-Holonet cited the game's developer and soundtrack musician Viktor Lundberg who, in late August, took to his social media to tweet about game testing.
"Looking forward to more Battlefront playtesting today and then get my face melted by @Fearedse probably excellent clinic," he wrote.
The tweet could be a suggestion that the game is already on its "alpha and beta" developer's testing phase and it could be made available for the public sooner or later.
As with the other details, it has already been reported that Star Wars Battlefront 3's plot lines wouldn't be "completely linked" with the upcoming Star Wars: Episode VII film.
"What we're building is more rooted in the traditional Star Wars Universe and not so much necessarily linked to the movies being made," Electronic Arts executive Patrick Soderland said previously.
"Obviously, there will be things in there that are somewhat tied to the new movie," he added.
The upcoming game installment is also being developed for PC platforms as well as for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One gaming consoles. It is built using DICE's proprietary Frostbite 3 engine, the same gaming engine used in their popular first-person shooter Battlefield 4.
