'Supergirl' Spoilers: Kevin Sorbo Hints at His Character's Origin; Melissa Benoist Gets New Costume for Musical Crossover
Recently cast actor Kevin Sorbo has hinted something about his yet-to-be-revealed character's origin planet, while reports have it that Melissa Benoist will be wearing a new costume for the "Supergirl"-"Flash" musical crossover.
Several days ago, the "Hercules: The Legendary Journeys" star revealed that he is joining the "Supergirl" ensemble for "a 3 show arc as the new villain." However, other than that, Sorbo's character description remains under wraps.
In his recent talk with Entertainment Tonight, Sorbo let fans get a bit of insight on his role. During the Directors Guild of America Awards last week, the actor dished that Teri Hatcher is going to play as his wife and added, "I'm from another planet that's an arch-rival planet of Krypton which is now of course destroyed."
"Supergirl" executive producer Andrew Kreisberg previously commented about Sorbo's addition to the cast saying, "Since his days as Hercules, Kevin Sorbo has brought such a strong presence to the screen, and we couldn't be more excited to have him join us on 'Supergirl.'"
From the same ET report, Sorbo revealed he is leaving for Vancouver this week to start working in the "Supergirl" set.
On the other hand, ET reporter Leanne Aguilera spilled through her Twitter page something about Benoist's new suit for the upcoming musical event for the DC Comics franchise. Aguilera tweeted: "Fact: @MelissaBenoist looks absolutely STUNNING in her musical crossover costume! No pics for now, but just WOW! #Supergirl"
Benoist is not new to musical scenes as she played the role of Marley Rose in the hit FOX show "Glee" before she moved on to saving people in the SuperWorld.
The said musical crossover is a two-part event that will kick off on Monday, March 20. Fans will get to watch Benoist hit some great songs and dance again alongside other actors from DC Comics shows on The CW.
It will also be a "Glee" reunion for Benoist as she will be joined by another "Glee" alum Darren Criss who will play the mind-controlling villain Music Meister. Not to mention that just like Benoist, "Flash's" titular role is played by another "Glee" actor, Grant Gustin, who will also be appearing at the musical event.
"Supergirl" airs every Monday at 8 p.m. EST on The CW.
