'The Bachelorette' 2012 Emily Maynard Demanded $750,000 but Settled for $150,000 Paycheck
Emily Maynard reportedly demanded close to $1 million to appear on to appear on ABC's "The Bachelorette" it has been revealed.
The 26-year-old was eventually forced to settle for much less but the reports only add credence to a theory that Maynard has become obsessed with fame and power.
"Emily told [producers] she wanted $750,000," a source close to Maynard, said.

"They said no way, but she settled for something higher than $100,000, probably around $150,000," the source explained adding, "she knew she was the star, so she became a bit of a diva."
Maynard, who receives financial support from her late fiancé NASCAR driver Ricky Hendrick's parents, rose to stardom after winning season 15 of the hit ABC reality dating show "The Bachelor."
The single mom, whose 6-year-old daughter Ricki was fathered by the late Hendricks, is so intent on expanding her fame status that she is reportedly willing to exploit "herself and her family."
"Emily has let her fame go to her head," an insider who is part of the NASCAR community- they previously embraced Maynard before her fame- told RadarOnline.com.
"She is exploiting herself and her family for fame," the source explained, referring to Hendrick, who passed away in 2004. "She was Ricky's girlfriend, but I was not aware of a proposal or an engagement. It seems like the rest of America is buying into her Hollywood story."
Maynard is reportedly hoping to stay in front of the camera and remain in the limelight once "The Bachelorette" is over. She wants to be like Ali Fedotowsky, host of NBC's "1st Look," and former "The Bachelor" contestant Melissa Rycroft, who has a CMT reality show.
"She's using The Bachelorette as a stepping stone to be a reporter or host," a source said, adding "Emily wants to be famous!"
