'The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild' Beginner's Guide: Tips and Tricks for First-Time Players

"The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" has officially been released. And for long-time fans of the franchise, the game may be a breeze. However, for beginners, "Breath of the Wild" may prove to be a hard game to grasp.

According to iDigitalTimes, the first thing to know about the game is that it features an open world. This means that players can go anywhere they want to at any time. They can also interact with other characters within the game.

Players should know that the Sheikah Slate is their best friend. It contains a map where players can pinpoint where they are in Hyrule, and it also consists of all their quests. And while the main quest is definitely significant, completing side jobs are also beneficial to the player, according to Attack of the Fanboy.

It is important to keep in mind that "Breath of the Wild" employs very dynamic gameplay, so things like weather and climate can greatly affect how Link travels and attacks. For example, if the wind is too strong, then Link will have a slower speed paragliding. This will also affect his attacks when he uses arrows.

Of course, Link can always use Shrines and Towers for teleporting. This will make it easier to travel across the map in a short amount of time. However, Shrines and Towers need to be activated first in order to be utilized. Activating every Shrine and Tower Link comes across will help players cover more ground.

Another great thing about "Breath of the Wild" is that there are a variety of weapons at Link's disposal. Even tree branches and tools can be used to defend himself from enemies. However, not all weapons are sturdy.

Since "Breath of the Wild" is essentially a survival game, players will need to know how to cook food or elixirs in order to stay alive. Food restores hearts, while elixirs keep stamina at a high. However, it has been pointed out that hearts are more important than stamina in the game more often than not.

"The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" was released on March 3 on the Nintendo Switch and Wii U.
