'Warcraft' Spoilers: Duncan Jones as a Gamer
The upcoming movie adaptation of the popular video game "Warcraft" is expected to just be the first installment to a new trilogy.
The director of "Warcraft," Duncan Jones, recently shared his future plans for the franchise. He explained that he has a desire to make a movie trilogy out of the well-loved game.
It is evident that the director has much excitement for the upcoming film. Jones explained that he is lucky to be chosen to direct the film, since he is also a big fan of the game. According to MNE, he stated, "I'm a real gamer and I think there are less real gamers involved in directing only because you have to spend so much time making films that there's no time to be a hardcore gamer. I'm just slightly insane and I stay up all night playing games. In the day I'm working and at night I play games."
With that, he was also able to share some details about what fans can expect from the film's plot. According to MTime, He stated, "As you may know, there has been a long history of trying to make a 'Warcraft' film, and for a number of reasons, it never quite happened. I was lucky. When I went to talk to Chris Metzen and the guys at Blizzard, we both saw things the same way. A 'Warcraft' film should not be about a good race of humans battling an evil race of orcs! 'Warcraft' should be about heroes on both sides trying to avoid a conflict, when villains leave them no choice."
The film faced many delays, due to the coinciding films that are expected to hit theaters during its scheduled released date. At first, the upcoming movie was slated for December 2015. However, since it was revealed that "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" was expected to release at the same time, the movie was pushed back to March 2016.
Unfortunately, it was then announced that "Batman v Superman: The Dawn of Justice" will be available in theaters in the same month, which is why "Warcraft" was then pushed back further. Now, the release date for "Warcraft" is slated for June 2016.
