'What Are Ghosts?': Author Jason Lohman Explains the Paranormal and Why Christians Shouldn't Fear
'My True Life Stories of Spiritual Warfare and The Paranormal' Details the Battle Against Spiritual Darkness
Christian author Jason Lohman just published his true life accounts and research of the paranormal and spiritual with "My True Life Stories of Spiritual Warfare and The Paranormal" in hopes of proving the very real power of Satan to believers and unbelievers.
Lohman wrote this book with the intensions of capturing chilling real life experiences his went through as child through his adult life.
After years of research, the conclusion that became most evident to him is that demons fled from the name of Jesus in the Scriptures. It is through faith in Jesus Christ and the belief that His promises are true that believers can fight against spiritual darkness, according to the Bible.
"For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places," Ephesians 6:12 (NKJV) says about Christians combatting the devil. It is this scripture that is the basis and foundation of the book.
"Many people scoff at the idea of ghosts or demons wandering our halls at night; however, the Scriptures, and those who study them, are very clear that we are surrounded by an unseen and very dangerous spiritual world, ruled by Satan himself. The stars of popular television shows like 'Ghost Adventures' and 'Ghost Hunters daringly provoke and hunt for spirits to entertain millions of television viewers, seemingly unaware of the dangerous positions they put themselves and their viewers in," Lohman said in a press release.
"Young adults between the ages of 18 and 35 are especially captivated by the world of the paranormal and the thought of experiencing the world of the dead; however, Christians are well-versed about what really happens after humans die -- it's either heaven or judgment for Hades, and there is no in-between. There is an overwhelming amount of evidence that the spiritual world does interact with us, so that begs the question 'What are ghosts, really, and where are they from?'" he continued.
Demonology and exorcism have long been a popular subject for horror movies in Hollywood. Most recently, "The Conjuring" hit theaters and showcases the true story of Ed and Lorraine Warren's life as paranormal investigators.
The film chronicles the true story of the Perron family, who encountered demons after moving to their new home in Rhode Island during the 1970s. Their home was once occupied by a woman named Bathsheba Sherman who allegedly was involved in the occult, which could have been the root cause of their issues.
The Warren's heard about the issues the family was having and investigated the occurrences happening within the Perron home -- a real life incidence that is mirrrored in the film. They eventually diagnosed the problem as demonic in origin.
