Airport Security Officer Saves Falling Baby With Unbelievable Diving Catch (VIDEO)
Christmas is here and with it a blizzard of frustrations over problems at the airport, including interminable lines at security. Before you rage against the X-ray machine, here's a reminder that airport security workers are people, too, and there are superheroes among them.
Case in point, this November 23rd footage from Katowice-Pyrzowice airport in Poland shows a father sitting his baby down on a counter while sorting through his things at the end of the security line. The child leans forward and tumbles off, a nanosecond from a nasty fall against the hard floor.
At the tail end of that nanosecond, security worker Grzegorz Paczek slides in, catching the baby in his arms and preventing a certain trip to the emergency room.
"I was standing four to five metres away and I realised I had no chance of stopping him fall so I just threw myself along the ground with my arms outstretched," Paczek told local media. "It was an instinctive reaction."
Here's another angle that shows the security officer's watchful eye and cat-like reflexes.
