2016 Presidential Race Update: Trump Sweeps Nevada in Big Win as Delegates Prep for Super Tuesday
Following his huge win in Nevada on Tuesday, Donald Trump is preparing for next Tuesday's big event wherein 595 delegates are at stake.
On Tuesday, Trump proved the Republican appeal among people who want to see the change he has proposed from the beginning of his campaign. With his double-digit win over Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz, it seems the GOP world is ready to let the business mogul into the White House.
Trump took home 45.9 points, Rubio, who spent some time in Nevada as a young boy, garnered 23.9 points, while Cruz followed behind with 21.4 points. Rubio has stated that majority of the Republican voting community don't even want Trump to be a nominee, but it seems the businessman is far above all the hate against him.
According to CNN, Trump said during his victory speech: "We love Nevada. We weren't expected to win too much and now we're winning, winning, winning the country." He also went ahead and reminded his rivals how he is winning among different sides of the society. "We won the evangelicals. We won with young. We won with old. We won with highly educated. We won with poorly educated. I love the poorly educated," he said.
The next day, he went on to share what he will do on the first day he steps into the White House as the new president. He said he will eradicate some executive orders handed out by the current president and he won't allow people into the country easily.
The most spectacular aspect of Trump's win is his victory over the Hispanic people. It should be noted that he received a lot of hate among the Latino community when he went against immigration plans and proposals. Despite the initial predictions that he will lose hard among Latino GOP caucus-goers, he has emerged a winner.
Meanwhile, presidential candidates are preparing for Super Tuesday, which marks one of the biggest days in the race for the White House. Texas, Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Tennessee, Alaska, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Oklahoma, Virginia, and Vermont will all be holding either caucuses or will cast their primary votes. To be held on March 1, it is already expected by some that Trump will once again win big.
