2016 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid Release Date News: Specs and Price Details

The 2016 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid will soon be launched to add to the growing list of the Japanese carmaker's hybrid vehicles in the present market.

The new crossover, which will become Toyota's eighth hybrid car, is the most fuel-efficient among all the RAV4 editions. The 2016 RAV4 Hybrid will also top the performance levels of all its predecessors, according to CNET.

The new Toyota hybrid car is powered by a non-turbocharged, 2.5-liter four cylinder engine and the electric half of the powertrain. The 2016 RAV4 Hybrid's all-wheel drive will be able to put out a combined 194 horsepower and 2016 pound-feet of torque, the report details.

Electric control lovers will be delighted with the 2016 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid's EV Mode switch, which will let the driver run the car solely on battery power. But the EV mode can only work for 0.6 miles at 25 mph. The car also has regenerative braking to maximize its power.

In terms of physical appearance, the 2016 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid is a sharper and sleeker version of the brand. The headlights are thinner and the lower bumper is reminiscent of the Mirai hydrogen fuel-cell vehicle. The taillights have been upgraded and a new shark-fin antenna is featured at the rear end, the report relays.

As for the interior, the 2016 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid remains the same, except for the revised cupholders, 12-volt outlet at the back, LED lower center console lights, and a new sunglass holder. All the hybrid cars sport a 4.2-inch TFT display and a diagram that tells the driver the status of the hybrid system, Green Car Reports states.

The 2016 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid's XLE trim, which has dual-zone automatic control, 6.1-inch touch screen infotainment system, and phone-based navigation, has a starting price of $28,370. The Limited trim, which has the Toyota Safety Suite, keyless entry, 7-inch touch screen infotainment system, built-in navigation, and heated leatherette seats, comes with a price tag of $33,610. The said prices are not inclusive of destination and delivery.

For now, the 2016 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid is not yet available in Australia, and the pricing for United Kingdom still has not been released. The release date of the new crossover has not yet been confirmed.
