2017 Renault Captur Release Date, Specs News: Refreshed Crossover Gains Upgraded Design
The 2017 Renault Captur will be unveiled at the Geneva International Motor Show in just a few days. The newest iteration of the French automaker's top-selling subcompact crossover comes with an upgraded design, which is evident in both the vehicle's exterior and interior.
The refreshed crossover has been given new components so that its design language will be more similar to Renault's larger sports utility vehicle (SUV), the Kadjar. The 2017 Captur now features a chrome strip in the grille and new skid plates on the front and rear bumpers. It is also available with 16-inch or 17-inch wheels.
The 2017 Renault Captur is also equipped with a new lighting signature that is comprised by full LED "Pure Vision" headlights and C-shaped LED daytime running lights. These same lighting fixtures can be seen at the rear.
Furthermore, the new Captur will be available in two new exterior colors — Desert Orange and Ocean Blue. The automaker is also offering a new two-tone body color option. Meanwhile, the roof will be available in Mercury Silver.
Overall, customers will be able to personalize the Captur depending on their preferences as Renault has made up to 36 different color combinations available. Exterior packs for the wheel bolts and door panel strips include the colors Ivory, Blue, Cappuccino, Red and Orange. On the other hand, color options for the interiors include Ivory, Blue, Caramel, Red Satin Chrome and Smoked Chrome.
Depending on the specific trim of the 2017 Captur, customers can also avail of the panoramic fixed glass roof with a two-tone color configuration.
Renault has not revealed powertrain options yet but according to AutoCar, the 2017 Captur is likely to feature the same engines as its predecessor including 0.9-liter petrol, 1.2-liter petrol and 1.5-liter petrol options. Performance numbers will be revealed during the new subcompact crossover's launch.
The 2017 Renault Captur will be officially introduced at the Geneva Motor Show on Tuesday, March 7, at 12:15 p.m. CET/6:15 a.m. EST.
