2018 Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo Release Date, Specs, Price News: Practical Wagon Body Style Added to Lineup

At the Geneva Motor Show next week, Porsche will unveil the Panamera Sport Turismo — a wagon version of the German automobile manufacturer's flagship four-door sports sedan. This new model comes with all the impressive features of the 2018 Panamera but has a versatile and flexible body style that is more practical for everyday use.

"For Porsche, the Panamera Sport Turismo is a step forwards into a new segment, but retains all of those values and attributes that are characteristic of Porsche," said Michael Mauer, director of Style Porsche.

The 2018 Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo will be available in five configurations: Panamera 4, Panamera 4S, Panamera 4S Diesel, Panamera 4 E-Hybrid and Panamera Turbo. They will be offered with the same powertrain options including the entry-level 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 engine that delivers 330 horsepower and the 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine that yields 550 horsepower.

The new Sport Turismo has the same dimensions as the other Panamera models, specifically a 116.1-inch wheelbase and an overall length of 198.9 inches. However, the wagon model is equipped with a unique rear design with an elongated roofline and a long roof contour. This makes way for a large tailgate, low loading edge, increased luggage compartment volume and an extra seat in the rear. Also, due to the different rear design, there is an adaptive roof spoiler that generates additional downforce.

Standard features include the digital Porsche Advanced Cockpit, rear axle steering, Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control and driver-assistance features like Porsche InnoDrive and adaptive cruise control. The Panamera wagon also comes with Porsche Traction Management, which is an active all-wheel-drive system with an electronically controlled multi-plate clutch.

The S models also come standard with adaptive air suspension with three-chamber technology.

The 2018 Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo will make its official debut at the Geneva Motor Show, scheduled from March 9 to 19. It is then slated to arrive in the fall with a starting price of $97,250 for the Panamera 4, $110,250 for the Panamera 4S, $155,050 for the Panamera Turbo and $105,050 for the Panamera 4 E-Hybrid.
